Information for Patients

Out-patient or same-day surgery is available Monday through Friday from 6 am to 6 pm.

We provide compassionate and uncompromising outpatient surgical procedural and pain management services while delivering the highest quality and safest care possible. We focus on offering each patient pre-operative instructions and care, as well as recovery care and individualized discharge instructions. Individualized patient care is provided in semi-private and private rooms for the privacy and comfort of our patients and their families.

Before Your Surgery

Do not eat solid foods after 11 pm the night before procedure. You may have clear liquids up to 4 hours prior to procedure
Breastfeeding ok up to 4 hours prior to procedure.
No alcohol 24 hours prior to procedure.
Take bath/shower prior to procedure
One visitor is allowed to accompany you day of procedure, two visitors with minor.
A pre-op nurse will call prior to your procedure to review pre-op instructions and medications to take the morning of our procedure
If you are receiving anesthesia, arrange for a licensed adult to drive you home. You must have a responsible adult/caregiver to stay with you for 24 hours.
Notify and discuss with your surgeon if you are taking weight loss medication, blood thinners, blood thinning products, or herbal supplements. Some of these medications need to be held 1-2 weeks prior to procedure.
Contact your physician if you develop a fever, cold, rash, or an open wound.

Day of Surgery

Check in Procedure:

Enter in the main entrance of the Surgery Center (located on E. McMurtry Ave.) and check in at the front desk
Bring your insurance card and photo ID.
When paperwork is complete, you will be escorted to an outpatient surgery room. Family will wait in the main lobby or vehicle. One visitor will be escorted to stay in the pre-op area after preparation is complete.
Please be aware that all articles of clothing will have to be removed prior to surgery, you will be provided with a hospital gown, surgical hat, and foot covers to wear into the surgical department.

Surgery Care Time:

Emergency cases will cause a delay in scheduled surgical cases. Your procedure time may change due to emergency cases, and you may have an extended wait period.
These unexpected delays cannot be prevented. We appreciate and ask for your patience; We will keep you and your family updated on changes during your stay.

After Surgery

What to expect after surgery?

After surgery, you are taken to the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) or to your outpatient surgery room to recover.
Patients who are having outpatient surgery may have one visitor in their outpatient surgery room.
Children under the age of 12 need permission to visit from the nurse in charge of your care.
Most outpatients are discharged 1 to 3 hours after surgery.
Your nurse will provide you discharge instructions, and it is important to follow these instructions.
Please ask questions to ensure that you understand all instructions.
