Qualifications:

  • Educational Preference: 2-year degree RN, LPN or CMA, RMA, CCMA certification

  • Experience: Preferred 2 years

  • Additional requirements / comments / education / experience / skills, registration or certification:

    · A pain management registered nurse, licensed practical nurse or medical assistant is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for patients experiencing acute or chronic pain. They work closely with patients, doctors, and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized pain management plans that may include medications, physical therapy, relaxation techniques, and other interventions when necessary.

    Job Description:

    · Conducting comprehensive pain assessments to determine the nature and severity of the patient's pain.

    · Collaborating with the healthcare team to develop and implement a personalized pain management plan.

    · Educating patients and their families about pain management techniques and strategies.

    · Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of the pain management plan and making adjustments as needed.

    · Administering pain medications and monitoring for side effects

    · Providing emotional support and counseling to patients experiencing pain

    · Documenting patient care and maintaining accurate medical records

    · Assisting with procedures such as nerve blocks or epidural injections

    · Advocating for patients to ensure that their pain is effectively managed and their comfort is prioritized.

    · A pain management clinical team member must have a strong background in pain assessment and management techniques, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They must also be knowledgeable about different types of pain medications and their potential side effects, as well as alternative pain management strategies.

    · Overall, a pain management team member plays a critical role in helping patients alleviate and manage their pain, improve their quality of life, and achieve better outcomes.
