Job Description:
Follow the laboratory’s procedures for specimen collection, handling, processing, test analysis, reporting, and maintaining records of patient results.
Report chemistry, coagulation studies, hematology and urinalysis excluding manual differentials and microscopic exams, results without assay ranges or critical values, Sed-rates, D-Dimers, BNP, triage urine tox screens, and all waived tests.
Performs proficiency testing samples in the same manner as patient samples.
Adhere to the laboratory’s Quality Control policies and documenting all Quality Control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations, and instrument maintenance, under the supervision of an MLT or MT.
Follow the laboratory policies, including taking and documenting corrective actions, whenever test systems are not within the laboratory’s established acceptable levels of performance.
Be able to identify problems that may adversely affect the performance or test result reporting and correcting the problem or notifying the appropriate supervisor.
Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory’s established performance specifications.
If required by route of qualification, performing moderate complexity testing only under the on-site direction supervision of an MLT or MLS.
Responsible for assuring that services are provided in a manner that is consistent with Ohio County Healthcare policies and procedures and the Purpose, Vision, and Values.
