Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or GED
  • Experience:
    • Preferred 1 year but not required
    • Experience with Eclinical Works & medical terminology a plus
    • Customer service skills, detail oriented, strong organizational skills & excellent verbal/written skills required.

Job Description:

Administrative Duties:
1. Greet and check in patients, schedule appointments, and manage patient records.
2. Answer phone calls, provide information, and assist with patient inquiries.
3. Maintain and update patient databases, including personal and medical information.
4. Handle billing, insurance claims, and coordinate with insurance companies for payment processing.
5. Perform general office tasks such as filing, faxing, and managing correspondence.

Clinical Duties:
1. Prepare patients for examinations by measuring vital signs, weight, and height.
2. Assist with patient screenings, assessments, and collecting medical histories.
3. Perform basic laboratory tests, such as blood draws, urine tests, and EKGs.
4. Administer medications, injections, and vaccines under the supervision of a healthcare provider.
5. Prepare and disinfect examination rooms and medical equipment.
6. Provide patient education, instructions for medications, and post-treatment care.

Additional Responsibilities:
1. Maintain inventory of medical supplies as necessary.
2. Adhere to proper infection control protocols and ensure a clean and safe environment.
3. Follow HIPAA guidelines to protect patient privacy and confidentiality.
4. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals within the facility for effective patient care.
5. Stay updated on current medical procedures, regulations, and technologies through ongoing education and training.

Qualifications and Skills:
1. High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a recognized medical assistant program is preferred.
2. Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and basic patient care principles.
3. Proficiency in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems and other healthcare software.
4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to establish rapport with patients and coworkers.
5. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and handle stressful situations calmly and efficiently.
6. Attention to detail, maintaining accuracy in data entry, and following protocols and procedures
