1. Knowledge of health care field and medical office protocols/procedures.
2. Knowledge of medical terminology.
3. Knowledge of assisting with specific tasks related to medical practice.
4. Knowledge of information that must be conveyed to patients and families.
5. Skills in performing medical assistance tasks appropriately.
6. Skills intact and diplomacy in interpersonal interactions.
7. Skills in understanding patient education needs by effectively sharing information with patients.
