Ohio County Healthcare's Clinical Laboratory is fully accredited through the Joint Commission and Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).
Our lab services are available for the Emergency Department and Outpatient Services. Services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. A variety of Lab Services are also available on a STAT basis, if your physician needs results immediately.
The lab staff will FAX or mail results to a patient’s physician, or patients may obtain a personal copy of the results by signing a release of information through our Health Information Management Department.
Lab services are also available for the community and industries in our area. Pre-employment drug testing or health screening tests for preventive purposes are also available throughout the year.
Ohio County Healthcare is pleased to now have a full service anatomic pathology/cytopathology laboratory on-site. The Pathology lab is located within the main hospital campus at 1211 Old Main Street in Hartford, KY.
Our medical laboratory is overseen by Dr. Brian Ward, a board-certified pathologist with over 30 years of experience in anatomic and clinical pathology. Dr. Ward may be a familiar name to you as he has served as medical director of numerous laboratories in Western Kentucky. Additionally, we are pleased to welcome Chris Ross, SCT(ASCP) Cytotechnologist, with 25 years of experience in intra-operative consultation, sign-out, and administrative responsibilities.
OCH’s vision is to provide Outstanding Care in all the services we provide while increasing access to care for the region. With the build-out of a new pathology department that utilizes state-of-the art technologies, our goal is to provide convenient testing for both our referring providers and the patients we serve, providing significantly improved turn-around times for both surgical pathology and cytology specimens.
