An Electroencephalogram or commonly known as EEG is a device which records the electrical activity from different parts of the brain. The pattern of the EEG reflects the state of the
patient's brain. The recording of the impulses of the brain can be used to diagnose certain diseases such as epilepsy.
At Ohio County Healthcare, EEGs are offered by appointment only. A signed order by your physician including the procedures to be performed, must be presented in order to obtain testing.
We will FAX or mail your results to your physician. Patients may obtain a copy of the results by signing a release of information through our Health Information Management Department.
