OCH is proud to offer Hologic’s Genius™ 3D Mammography exam which is revolutionizing how breast cancer is detected.

The Genius ™ 3D exam is the only mammogram that has greater accuracy than 2D mammography for women across a variety of ages and breast densities. Breast density is very common and varies among women. Typically, 40 to 50 percent of women aged 40 to 74 have dense breast tissue. Breasts consist of several types of tissue that appear differently on a mammogram. Dense breast tissue – also know as fibrous and glandular tissue – appears darker (or whiter) on the mammogram image, making it more difficult to determine problem areas and often resulting in additional imaging for the patient. The Hologic Genius™ 3D Mammography exam is proven to reduce callbacks for additional imaging by 40% compared to traditional 2D mammography alone through it’s superior imaging quality.

Ohio County Healthcare offers a full range of radiology services including:

  •  Bone Densitometry (DEXA Scan)
  • Computed Tomography (CT)
  • 3D Digital Mammography
  • Echocardiogram
  •  General Radiology
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
  • Nuclear Medicine
  • Ultrasound

The newest technology advancement for radiology or our Hologic Selenia Digital Mammogram and the Hologic Discovery C Bone Densitometer machines. During your mammogram, images now appear on a computer monitor within seconds. A Radiologist can manipulate the picture by enlarging and brightening specific areas of interest, which reduces the need for retakes and reduces our exposure to x-rays.

Our CT is a Philips Brilliance 64 slice scanner, which offers the latest developments in CT technology. This technology gives us superior image quality while using much shorter scan times. CT dose reduction software is also utilized to decrease patient radiation exposure.

We have the Philips Brightview dual head nuclear medicine camera. Our camera is capable of producing multiple images in a short amount of time. The images are exceptional quality even for challenging studies- from infants to plus-sized patients.

MRI has a Philips Achieva 1.5 tesla magnet that uses one of the shortest MRI machines for patient comfort. We also use 16 channel coils for shorter scanning time and increased detail of images. This technology allows us to obtain excellent quality images for better and more accurate diagnosis. The MRI suite offers and open warm environment, large glass windows, and a colored ceiling mural.

Ohio County Healthcare Radiology has received the gold standard in imaging accreditation by the American College of Radiology (ACR).

The accreditations were obtained in 5 different imaging modalities including MRI, CT, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound and Mammography which has been ACR accredited for over 15 years.

The American College of Radiology (ACR) is a peer-reviewed, educationally focused evaluation process to help you assure your patients of the highest level of image quality and safety. Accreditation is not only the right thing to do; it also helps our facility meet regulatory and third-party payer criteria.
