Responsible for providing personal care and light housekeeping to patient upon assignment from Hospice staff nurse.
Hospice Home Health Care Aide must possess personal qualities of empathy, responsibility, and dependability.
Must have the ability to accept supervision, follow instructions, communicate effectively with patients, family members and other members of the Hospice Interdisciplinary
Usual workplace is the Hospice patient’s home, will require travel to the home where there will be variable accommodations and improvising may become necessary.
Bending, stooping, and lifting will be required.
Direct patient care which requires both fine and gross motor skills, as well as lifting and pulling of heavy objects.
Also subject to exposure to Bloodborne pathogens some of the time.
May have exposure to dangerous chemicals (cleaning and disinfecting) agents as well as preservatives
