  • Education: High school diploma or GED plus license or certification as a LPN or Medical Assistant
  • Experience: Preferred 2 years

Job Description:

  • A nonexempt position responsible for performing a variety of clinical and administrative duties. Assists in patient care as assigned and under direction of physician or nurse practitioner. Regularly performs patient care duties. Handles clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks. Provided information to patients may fully utilize and benefit from the clerical services. Teamwork with all Ohio County Healthcare Staff while providing Outstanding Care. Ability to multitask various functions. Answer multi-line telephone system, transfer calls, take messages, review and respond to voice mails within 1 hour of receipt. Greets customers in a friendly, positive, courteous, and professional manner. Schedule patient appointments in EHR, either in person or on the phone. Obtain/verify insurance eligibility via multiple websites; while entering accurate demographic and billing information on patients at each visit. Scan documents into the patient's electronic health record according to protocol to keep charts in an organized manner. Collect co-pays, deductibles, and account balance payments from patients by posting in the EHR. Gather all necessary demographic information. Coordinates the compliant sharing of accurate and timely billing information to PMG’s billing company. Keeps work area clean and organized. Maintain tidiness in front lobby and/or reports cleanliness issues to supervisor. Maintains patient confidentiality and privacy at all times. Obtains necessary patient signatures on all required paperwork. Reports any concerns relating to patient care and/or compliance through proper channels promptly. Attends at least 80% of voluntary staff meetings and 100% of all mandatory hospital or department meetings/in-services. And any other duties assigned by your supervisor. May be requested to be member of QI team. Completes all other duties as assigned.
